Planet

Our commitment
Fashion is what we do - but doing it responsibly is part of who we are.
At Motel, we’re committed to creating pieces that not only look good, but feel right and last a lifetime.
We don’t think this should cost the earth or harm the planet.
-
How?
We’re committed to focusing on the planet by driving both social and environmental progress.
This means taking meaningful action, reducing our impact, supporting communities, and working towards respected certifications like BCorp to hold ourselves accountable.
-
Why?
Protecting the planet and supporting people go hand in hand.
We believe real change comes from showing up, taking responsibility, and pushing for better.
Not just for today, but for the future.
-
Where?
You’ll find all of this in our Planet and People section — the heart of our sustainability efforts. This is where we share real stories, real progress and real goals.
From reducing waste in our supply chain to switching to eco-conscious workplace essentials, and from supporting mental health charities to fighting period poverty.
In action
Check out what we've been up to recently in line with our sustainability commitments:

Environmental
- Reducing our consumption where possible by proactively monitoring our Scope 1 and 2 and 3 carbon emissions.
- Prioritize carbon-efficient logistics, partner with low-emission shipping carriers, and explore carbon offsetting initiatives.
- Eliminating single-use plastic packaging and transition to 100% recyclable, compostable, or reusable alternatives by 2026.
- Working towards collaborating with suppliers who implement responsible water use and pollution controls, aligned with ZDHC and other environmental standards.

Social
- Educating our manufacturers on the available certifications for internationally recognised labor standards (e.g., Fair Trade, SA8000, WRAP).
- Conduct annual audits of Tier 1 suppliers for compliance with labour laws, health & safety, and working conditions
- Strive to ensure that 100% of our suppliers pay a verified living wage by 2030, with transparent reporting and regular third-party audits.
- Maintain equitable hiring practices across our organization and support internal training on bias and inclusion.
- Prioritise partnerships with women-owned and women-led suppliers and support community development programs that empower women in fashion and textiles
Would you like to hear more about our commitment to the planet? Our Social & Environmental Policy sets out our promise to make choices that support sustainability, protect workers’ rights, and help build a more thoughtful, conscious industry.

B-Corp
At Motel, style has always come with a statement and becoming a B Corp certified is our way of making that statement louder and more meaningful.
We’re here to lead with fearless creativity and push boundaries in fashion, but never at the expense of our values. B Corp status means we’re holding ourselves to high standards across the board, in how we treat people, how we produce our collections, and how we impact the planet.
It’s about conscious production, making sure everything we create is done with care, responsibility, and transparency. We’re committed to creating high-quality fashion with integrity, and doing it in a way that feels right, not just for us, but for everyone connected to what we do.
This step reflects our long-term goal: to be world class in everything we do - not just in our style, but in our standards.

Supplies
We’ve introduced Riley period products and bamboo toilet paper — both organic, eco-friendly and plastic-free. We are proud to collaborate with like-minded suppliers, who provide sustainable and socially responsible period care to our Worcester and Bali offices.
By making these small swaps, we're reducing waste and supporting ethical brands that prioritise people and the planet. Their community and social work aligns perfectly with Motel's focus on empowerment in our local communities.
Partnering with ethical businesses who align to our values is fundamental to ensuring sustainability is truly intrinsic to our culture.
